Barbra Streisand Fellowships
Description
The Barbra Streisand Center at the Center for the Study of Women invites applications for this year’s inaugural Barbra Streisand Fellowships. These fellowships will be composed of grants of up to $20,000 for faculty working on the topic of “Truth in the Public Sphere.” We encourage applicants to define this topic as broadly and expansively as possible, including questioning and critiquing, as well as examining, the concepts of “truth” and “the public sphere.” An explicit connection to the study of feminism, gender, sexuality, and/or women is required. Projects that also center analyses of race, settler colonialism, and/or empire will be given priority.
These funds can be used for research and travel expenses, salary stipends or course buy-outs, programming and events, equipment, GSRships, or a combination. Please note that if used for programming, we cannot guarantee CSW staff labor to support event organization.

Criteria
- Applicants must be UCLA senate faculty or non-senate faculty (with an active UCLA appointment during the grant period). All others may inquire about eligibility (email rosa@women.ucla.edu).
- Recipients must agree to the following:
- Submit a brief final report describing the project outcomes
- Acknowledge CSW/Streisand Center in all public informational materials and publications resulting from the grant
- Recipients may be recognized at a future CSW Awards Celebration. CSW staff will coordinate your attendance accordingly.

- Research Proposal (3 single-spaced maximum description that includes the title and an explanation of the proposed research)
- Itemized Budget (use provided budget template)
- Curriculum Vitae
Only complete applications will be considered. CSW/Streisand Center must receive all required documents no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Friday, April 1, 2022.
