Hilary Malson is a scholar of Geography and Urban Planning who is currently working towards her doctoral degree in the UCLA Department of Urban Planning. Her research focuses on people’s planning histories, Black life, housing justice, migration and displacement, and community building. At present, she is a Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellow, an editorial board member of Critical Planning Journal, and a collective member of the Los Angeles Center for Community Law and Action. Prior to entering the PhD program, she worked in the fields of community development and public history in her beloved hometown of Washington, DC, as well as the great city of Philadelphia.
