Call for Faculty Manuscript Development Grants AY26-27

The Center for the Study of Women|Barbra Streisand Center invites applications from UCLA assistant professors and early career non-senate faculty for funding to support manuscript workshops and manuscript development (including, but not limited to, manuscript development consultation, proof reading, indexing). We welcome all research areas, particularly research with explicit connection to the study of feminism, gender, sexuality, and/or women. Grant must be used by June 30, 2027.

This grant is made possible by the generous support of our co-sponsors: Anderson School of Management, Herb Alpert School of Music, Division of Humanities, Division of Life Sciences, Division of Social Sciences, Division of Luskin School of Public Affairs, Samueli School of Engineering, School of Law, School of Theater, Film, and Television, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities.

CRITERIA

  • Applicants must be UCLA assistant professors (tenure-track, senate faculty) or early career non-senate faculty (under 10 years of experience) with an active UCLA appointment during AY26-27. All others may inquire about eligibility (email rosa@women.ucla.edu).
  • Recipients of the grant must agree to the following:
    • Use the funds by June 30, 2027
    • Acknowledge the Center for the Study of Women|Barbra Streisand Center, Anderson School of Management, Herb Alpert School of Music, Division of Humanities, Division of Life Sciences, Division of Social Sciences, Division of Luskin School of Public Affairs, Samueli School of Engineering, School of Law, School of Theater, Film, and Television, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activities.
    • Submit a brief (1 – 2 paragraphs) report detailing manuscript progress/outcome by June 30, 2027. These reports support CSW|Streisand Center’s requests for future funding commitments.
