In this talk, Professor Moore will share her ideas about how engaged scholars can utilize intersectional environmental justice theory and praxis to combat our era of political polarization, ecological precarity, generational social inequity, and planetary uncertainty. Drawing examples from two decades of inter and anti-disciplinary island-based research, she describes both problematic and promising forms of socioecological knowledge production, the frameworks that can inform our methodologies, and the implications of this work for the future.
