Call for Graduate Student Applications: Scholars-in-Residence Fellowships
UCLA graduate students are invited to apply for one of two fellowships to support participation in the CSW|Streisand Center Scholars-in-Residence (SIR) program. This program convenes a group of UCLA faculty and graduate students to meet and collaborate intensively for one quarter on a specific topic. This year’s SIR program will meet in person during spring quarter of 2024 around the topic of catastrophe: the multiple timelines of catastrophe, practices of grief and mourning, care, and resilience in the face of catastrophe, and other related intellectual and political priorities as generated collectively by the participants.
Amount: 2 fellowships at $5000 each

Criteria
Applicant must be a currently registered UCLA Ph.D. or M.A student and must be registered and in residence during Spring quarter of 2024.
This fellowship is contingent on the awardee’s participation in the SIR program’s activities.
Special Note

- Curriculum Vitae
- List of three references that includes names, affiliations, and email addresses
- A Statement* (maximum 3 single-spaced pages) that includes:
- a description of your academic background (coursework, degree focus, past creative, activist, or research projects)
- a description of your research and/or creative project that explains the work’s methods, arguments and/or guiding questions, and conveys how the project substantively engages with the topic of catastrophe
*Please compose statements that are within the stated guidelines, as review committee members may not be able to read statements in excess of 3 single-spaced pages.
