How do histories of eugenics, colonialism, and patriarchy continue to shape research today?
This workshop offers faculty and researchers in all fields practical tools for recognizing how exclusionary histories influence research questions, methodologies, interpretation, and academic environments.
Participants will explore how addressing systemic bias can:
- Improve the accuracy and impact of scientific research
- Generate more innovative approaches to pressing contemporary issues
- Create more equitable and welcoming research environments
- Support junior scholars and strengthen lab culture

About the Facilitator
Sarah Rebolloso McCullough, PhD, runs the Feminist Research Institute at UC Davis, whose mission is to transform research culture to be more accurate, impactful, and humanizing. She created the Asking Different Questions research training program, which teaches feminist science & technology studies to justice-driven STEM researchers. She also conducts research in knowledge justice, environmental justice, mobility, justice, and university-community relations. She earned her PhD in Cultural Studies with a designated emphasis in Feminist Theory & Research at UC Davis.
